Open source

The open source initiative at Saturn started in the early stages itself, initially to build up reputation, later on as a commitment to the community. Saturn has long been utilizing and was greatly inspired by the open technology, that we at Saturn had been developing on top of open source platform. Saturn has developed some simple kits, which has been published openly, without any restrictions or licensing terms [MySQL Innodb space kit]. There are also a handful of documentations published on methods to achieve certain configurations in Linux environment.

Saturn basically implements Linux, MySQL and Apache. All of Saturn’s project involves some kind of server side scripting, which is mostly PHP, shell and SQL scripts. We have a team actively working on Zapatec Widgets and YUI. Thanks to all the developers from the community who have contributed to these projects. We had explored the world of Rich Internet Applications and Asynchronous Method Invocations in the early stages itself. XUL/XBL and Gecko applications were developed by Saturn long back.
